Geology and Seabed Topography Research to Support the Implementation of Indonesia’s Submarine Cable Corridor Buton Island to EEZ (Hub Indonesia - USA)

Abstract The Indonesian Government has established pipelines and cable corridors through the Decree of Minister Marine Affairs Fisheries Number 14 2021 concerning Submarine Pipelines Cables. Indonesia’s strategic position in world become a favorite route for laying submarine cables, connecting Australia Indonesia with America other countries. purpose this study is to conduct technical existing ratified corridor on geological conditions waters. method used path analysis geomorphology by compiling class criteria related increasing risks conditions. results show that several lines pass volcanic areas faults; also, there are seabed side slope >20%. This condition can affect process, operations, vulnerability. In addition, it necessary rearrange paths have high hazard vulnerability disasters activities. form recommendations proposed revisions reduce constraints geology geomorphology.
